Israel has brought its war to the streets of Doha with an attack on Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital. As the Gulf state's habitual atmosphere of peace and security is being rudely interrupted, shockwaves of incredulity continue to reverberate across the region.
According to Thomas Keith on X:
"Hebrew Channel 14 reports the Doha strikes were executed by 10 Israeli warplanes flying a 1,800 km route through Jordan, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia before releasing 10 missiles at the Hamas delegation’s meeting site.
That routing isn’t just a matter of fuel endurance, it demands pre-cleared corridors, synchronized handoffs across multiple states’ airspace control, and tanker support to sustain a fully armed strike package for the round trip.
Open-source flight data from the strike window already showed RAF KC3 Voyager and USAF KC-46A Pegasus tankers orbiting east of Qatar under CENTCOM authority, exactly where such a package would top off before pushing in.
This means the mission wasn’t improvised; it was a pre-negotiated, multinational operation to hit a political target in the Qatari capital, a precedent-setting alignment between the Zionist entity, Washington, and cooperating Arab regimes, extending active warzone rules into foreign capitals."
And only hours before the Doha strike, Israeli warplanes bombed sites near the Syrian cities of Latakia, Homs, and Palmyra. Meanwhile, on Monday, Israeli warplanes struck eastern Lebanon , Israeli drones bombed the humanitarian Sumud Flotilla at a Tunisian port, and in Palestine, the IDF continued its genocidal purge of Gaza.
Yet it was the Doha strike that showed how the parasite-state can endanger its own hosts, underlining once again that the empire doesn't protect its own allies. This event may lead Qatar to seek other alliances when the opportunity presents itself.
Israel is becoming an existential threat to humanity. The constantly escalating aggression is pushing Israel into a war against everyone else. The "who-dares-wins" of the high-stakes poker-player has always been a feature of the Israeli national psyche. But Israel's recent behaviour has gone far beyond even that, and may evidence something else: an unconcious drive towards the nation's own "heroic suicide", an idea explored in some depth here.
But the other side of the equation cannot be ignored either. Israel's neighbours have 20 times the country's firepower and 50 times its manpower. Iran's measured counter-attack in June's Twelve-day war shows that the military power to restrain and even defeat Israel certainly exists. That it is not used cannot be ascribed to Israel's nuclear veto alone, since an open nuclear attack on another country might invite a similar response from Pakistan or other nuclear powers. Instead, the destruction of the Middle East is being facilitated by the cowardice, servility and inferiority complex of Arab and Muslim leaders just as much as it is by Israel's fanaticism.
On the world stage, weakness only invites aggression.
