In Brief
- The Facts:
During a World Economic Forum (WEF) anti-disinformation panel last month, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, Melissa Fleming, announced that they "own the science."
She was specifically referencing their new climate change agenda.
She brought up the UN's partnership with Big Tech companies including TikTok and Google that contribute to controlling the narrative on climate change information.
- Reflect On:
Why is legitimate science, information and expert opinion that opposes the "official" narrative being censored?
How can these opposing narratives even be known by the masses if they are never addressed properly by mainstream media and government institutions?
How many people believe these "trusted" sources without ever looking deeper into information where by political policy is developed and implicates how we live?
Melissa Fleming, the UN’s Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications.

During a World Economic Forum (WEF) anti-disinformation panel last week, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, Melissa Fleming, announced that they “own the science,” in reference to their climate initiative, as seen in the clip posted below.
She brought up their partnership with big tech companies including TikTok and Google that contribute to controlling the narrative on climate change information.
Their “anti-disinformation panel” is in place due to their belief that disinformation regarding major issues like climate change and COVID-19, is running rampant. But who decides what’s misinformation and what is not?
This notion has sparked censorship initiatives all over the world. Big Tech companies have partnered with various international organizations as well as numerous federal agencies to combat this so called “disinformation.”
A number of independent media organizations, like us at The Pulse, have been severely demonetized as a result. This is why we need your help and support in our attempt to stay afloat.
“We partnered with Google,” Fleming said, adding, “for example, if you Google ‘climate change,’ you will, at the top of your search, you will get all kinds of UN resources.”
“We started this partnership when we were shocked to see that when we Googled ‘climate change,’ we were getting incredibly distorted information right at the top,” she said, before claiming ownership of science.
“We’re becoming much more proactive. We own the science, and we think that the world should know it, and the platforms themselves also do,” she said. She also highlighted that the UN collaborated with TikTok on a project named “Team Halo” to boost specific Covid narratives on the Chinese-owned video sharing platform, reported Sociable.
The only problem is, a lot of legitimate information, science, evidence and perspectives are being censored, silenced, unacknowledged, and in many cases, even ridiculed.
In the case of COVID-19, for example, never before has so much peer-reviewed medical and scientific literature been completely ignored and even “fact checked” by third party Big Tech partners. Never before have so many renowned scientists and doctors been silenced. I recently wrote about one example, renowned cardiologist Dr. Aseem Malhotra.
Another great example was when the British Medical Journal was “fact checked” for uncovering fraud during Pfizers COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials.
There are thousands of examples. No transparency or discussion is had, only censorship and ridicule. Multiple regions across the planet are also threatening doctors for speaking out against official COVID-19 narratives. We’ve seen this recently in California, for example.
This has been an issue throughout the pandemic and well before it. As early as May 2021, Facebook
removed 16 million pieces of its content and added warnings to around
167 million. YouTube removed more than 850 000 videos related to
“dangerous or misleading covid-19 medical information.”
A proper,
open and transparent discussion about controversial topics is never
had, and science that calls into question “official” government, United
Nations (UN) and World Health Organization (WHO) narratives does not see
the light of day. This censorship seems to be coupled with mass
marketing, media and advertising to influence the collective public mind
to accept one specific black and white narrative. These narratives are
then used to dictate government policy and create various political
ideologies. This activity has infiltrated all kinds of institutions,
including academia.
Welcome to the politicization of science.
In the United States specifically, the executive branch of the federal government has been colluding with social media to censor any content on social media platforms — Twitter, YouTube (owned by Google), and LinkedIn (owned by Microsoft), Facebook and Instagram (both owned by Meta) — any content that questions, challenges, or contradicts the government’s covid, climate, and other policies.
While private companies might arguably choose to censor content on their platforms, the government cannot pressure or coerce private companies to censor disfavored content. Any such action is clearly a violation of the free speech guaranteed by the First Amendment of the US and other Constitutions.
It’s hard to know what the solution to this issue is, and the fact that it’s being done under the guise of goodwill makes it easy to justify. That being said, the more censorship increases and free speech decreases, the more people start to question what’s really going on. In fact, censorship and lack of transparency may only bring more attention to perspectives that the global elite may not want you to be aware of.
